Highest Customer Satisfaction belongs to Motorola and Sanyo
The most recent 2007 U.S. Wireless Mobile Phone Evaluation Study showed that the highest overall customer satisfaction with cell phones belongs to Motorola and Sanyo brands. Following them in the rankings and performance above average are Samsung and LG, respectively.
The study also finds several key patterns of cell phone usage for 2007:
- The average time users keep their handsets is 17.5 months.
- The average price payed for the phone is $93.
- 36% of customers receive a free mobile phone when subscribing to a wireless service.
- 69% of all cell phones owned are clamshells, 29% for the candy-bar style, and 2% for the slider design.
- Most used features are: speakerphone - 51%, built-in camera - 35%, SMS - 22%, and gaming - 16%.
- More than 50% of all current mobile phone users compared other handset brands before buying their current phone.
The study was conducted in the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007 among 21,520 wireless users who have owned their current mobile phone for less than 2 years.
