Different cellphone websites reporting that Sanyo is currently in negotiations with Sharp and Kyocera to sell handset department, cos it is unprofitable for the company.

New phones from Sanyo

This week 2 new Sanyo phones appeared.

The first one I’d like to mention is Sanyo Katana DLX. It was spotted at FCC site and not much details are available yet.

The second one is Sanyo SCP-3200. This clamshell was designed for family use and has parental controls preventing kids from talking to much.  SCP-3200 comes in 3 bright colors.

Highest Customer Satisfaction belongs to Motorola and Sanyo

The most recent 2007 U.S. Wireless Mobile Phone Evaluation Study showed that the highest overall customer satisfaction with cell phones belongs to Motorola and Sanyo brands. Following them in the rankings and performance above average are Samsung and LG, respectively.

Sanyo 7050 Phone

Sprint has announced the new Sanyo 7050 recently. Besides the specifications reported earlier, this entry-level clamshell meets the Military Spec 810F (shock, dust and vibration protection). The 7050 comes with Bluetooth, Speakerphone, ReadyLink PTT and 1x RTT data and integrated GPS that works even w/o cellular service.

The price is $150.

Sanyo M1 launched by Sprint

As you probably know, a couple of weeks ago FCC approved Sanyo M1 and finally Sprint Nextel started to sell this handset. Sprint’s price for the Sanyo M1 is $199 with a 2-year contract and $150 in instant savings. The handset is already available.
